PDF invoice → validated CSV

The exact downloadable JSON completed a real apizt request: HTTP 200, 249 tokens, two CSV rows. The free template is submitted to n8n for human review; it is not yet published in their library. API usage is billed separately.

Import the JSON into n8n, then create a Header Auth credential: name Authorization, value Bearer followed by your private key.
Select the credential in apizt text request. Keep the sample invoice and gemini-2.5-flash-lite for the first run.
Execute the workflow. Inspect the extracted text, review the two validated line items, and download the CSV from Export CSV.

Selectable-text PDFs only; scanned PDFs require OCR. No automatic retry. On 401 check the credential; on 429 check quota and routing before retrying; DNS errors require checking the host/container network. No video models are used.

From a document to your first run

1. Start with Markdown
Convert a PDF or Word document with MarkItDown, check the text order and tables, then copy the complete Markdown. Scans need OCR first. If you already have Markdown, continue to the next step.

2. Import the template and configure n8n credentials
Import the JSON and open the Configure document node. Replace the sample markdown with your document. In apizt Chat Completions, select a Header Auth credential, set Header Name to Authorization and Header Value to Bearer API_KEY. Replace API_KEY with your real key and save the credential in n8n.

3. Execute manually and review the result
Click Execute workflow to run the synthetic sample first. Check the Validate output node, then replace the sample with your document. Compare the summary with the source; missing fields should be null. Fix text extraction or the prompt before using the output in automation.

Check before execution

Document length and content: The template is designed for one short document, with a limit of 12,000 Markdown characters. Split longer documents first. Models may miss details; check summaries and extracted fields against the source.
Billing and credentials: Generating, copying and downloading templates is free. Importing into n8n makes no model call. Executing sends Markdown to apizt and model usage is billed. Configure the API key only in your own n8n credentials.
Tested version and import behavior: On 2026-10-11, both public JSON files imported into n8n 2.42.6 and 16 mock tests passed. One live synthetic-document call per task returned HTTP 200 and passed structure validation. Check your own version, model and credentials; future success is not guaranteed. CLI reimport of the same task's fixed ID updates that template. Change the JSON id first for an independent workflow.

Frequently asked questions

Can the workflow read PDF or Word files directly?

The workflow accepts Markdown text. Use PDF to Markdown, Word to Markdown or the MarkItDown online converter first. Check the result, then replace markdown in the n8n Configure document node. Scanned files need OCR first.

How do summary and extraction differ?

The summary template returns summary and key_points. The extraction template returns the fields you specify, uses null for values absent from the document and lists missing_fields. Both outputs pass structure validation in the workflow; content still needs human review.

Do I need an API key to generate a template?

No. Templates are generated locally in your browser. This page makes no model requests and does not accept API keys or document content. Configure your own apizt Header Auth credential when executing the workflow in n8n.

Can I run the downloaded workflow immediately?

After importing, check the nodes, select a Header Auth credential in apizt Chat Completions and confirm the model ID is available. The workflow includes synthetic Markdown. Click Execute workflow and review the result before replacing it with a real document.

When is model usage billed?

Generating, copying and downloading a template on this page is free. Executing it manually or enabling later automation in n8n calls the apizt API. Cost depends on the selected model and input and output usage.

1. Start with Markdown
Convert a PDF or Word document with MarkItDown, check the text order and tables, then copy the complete Markdown. Scans need OCR first. If you already have Markdown, continue to the next step.

2. Import the template and configure n8n credentials
Import the JSON and open the Configure document node. Replace the sample markdown with your document. In apizt Chat Completions, select a Header Auth credential, set Header Name to Authorization and Header Value to Bearer API_KEY. Replace API_KEY with your real key and save the credential in n8n.

3. Execute manually and review the result
Click Execute workflow to run the synthetic sample first. Check the Validate output node, then replace the sample with your document. Compare the summary with the source; missing fields should be null. Fix text extraction or the prompt before using the output in automation.

From template download to execution in n8n

Check before execution

Document length and content: The template is designed for one short document, with a limit of 12,000 Markdown characters. Split longer documents first. Models may miss details; check summaries and extracted fields against the source.
Billing and credentials: Generating, copying and downloading templates is free. Importing into n8n makes no model call. Executing sends Markdown to apizt and model usage is billed. Configure the API key only in your own n8n credentials.
Tested version and import behavior: On 2026-10-11, both public JSON files imported into n8n 2.42.6 and 16 mock tests passed. One live synthetic-document call per task returned HTTP 200 and passed structure validation. Check your own version, model and credentials; future success is not guaranteed. CLI reimport of the same task's fixed ID updates that template. Change the JSON id first for an independent workflow.
